======KT-ETH :: com0com + com2tcp====== =====Introduction===== This page shows the configuration of the virtual serial port by using the com0com and com2tcp to worked with the converters of the series KT-ETH. Both programs are made available under the GPL. =====KT-ETH configuration===== The port for which you want to create a virtual serial port should be configured as follows: * Mode (Mode): TCP Server, * Protocol (Protocol): Telnet. =====com0com installation===== Com0com latest drivers can be found at the project http://sourceforge.net/projects/com0com/ or on our website in the section [[http://www.kristech.eu/pl/download?product=KT-ETH-UART-1|Download]]. \\ The installation should start by running the setup.exe file. \\ {{:pl:kt-eth:com0com-1.jpg?400|}} Installation is very simple and mainly consists of approval of each step installer. \\ After installation, Windows will detect new hardware. \\ {{:pl:kt-eth:com0com-7.jpg?400|}} Select the option as shown above and click Next. {{:pl:kt-eth:com0com-8.jpg?400|}} Select Install the software automatically and click Next. {{:pl:kt-eth:com0com-9.jpg?400|}} When the installation is the end choose Finish. Another port is detected. Follow the same as before. {{:pl:kt-eth:com0com-10.jpg?500|}} In Device Manager should appear as a new device in the picture above. Were created two virtual serial ports with names CNCA0 and CNCB0. =====com0com configuration===== During the installation com0com automatically creates a pair of virtual ports with names and CNCBn CNCAn. Some of the program require a standard COM port names. You can change the port name in the setup menu, accessible com0com Programs-> com0com-> Setup. \\ {{:pl:kt-eth:com0com-11.jpg?500|}} In this window the name was changed to the COM5 port CNCA0. Further configuration assumes that your application will use the port and the port COM5 CNCB0 will work with com2tcp. =====com2tcp installation===== Copy the file com2tcp.exe located on our website in the Download section to the directory where you installed com0com. Default folder in Windows XP is C:\Program Files\com0com. =====com2tcp configuration===== The next step is to run the application com2tcp to data sent to port CNCB0 be sent as Telnet protocol. To do this, run with the parameters com2tcp like this: <code> com2tcp --telnet \\.\CNCB0 <ip> <port> </code> where: <ip> - ip module, <port> - port number. \\ \\ For example: \\ {{:pl:kt-eth:com0com-12.jpg?700|}} Now you can communicate with the KT-ETH module using the port COM5. \\ \\ To access the another port, add another pair of virtual ports Programs->com0com->Setup->Add Pair. Change according to the requirements of the port name. Com2tcp run the program from the Telnet port number assigned to the second serial port (default 26).
